Weeks are flying by like days here at Nuwa HQ. We're busier than ever—fulfilling orders, inspecting each Nuwa Pen for imperfections, and planning our collaborative future. For our Kickstarter backers, the estimated time of arrival is April 2025. 
 
Before we get started, we're happy to announce that the smartest pen in the world is now an iF award winner. Although awards like these aren't our main goal, they do prove that we're heading in the right direction.

We get it—"crowdbuilding" sounds like another piece of hollow corporate jargon. But it's not, we promise. At Nuwa, crowdbuilding is a vital component of our product development.
 
You can think of it like crowdfunding, but instead of investing your money, you're investing your feedback and ideas. That means you get a guiding hand in shaping the future of Nuwa Pen and the features we're developing.
 
To make this process of continuous feedback and collaboration as seamless as possible, we've set up four avenues of communication:

Quality Control
Developing Nuwa Pen has taken years and many sleepless nights. So when it comes to quality, we're extremely strict. We haven’t worked this hard to create the smartest pen in the world just to ship products with missing or damaged parts.
 
That's why every Nuwa Pen—whether it’s getting shipped to Tasmania, Turin, or Toronto—passes through a pair of hands in Groningen.

Another busy week has come and gone as we continue our relentless work refining Nuwa Pen and its ecosystem.

It’s been a long time coming, and it didn’t disappoint. As some of you may have noticed, we announced the opening of our shipping process at the end of last month. While it will take some time for our manufacturing to reach full speed, we’re thrilled to have begun.

Our first external delivery was made to Sander, just a short drive from our HQ in Groningen. It's safe to say his smile was infectious. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to deliver every pen in person, but we hope your reactions will be just as enthusiastic as Sander’s.

We are well into 2025, and we have some brilliant news to share. We couldn’t have done it without your incredible support. The journey to bringing Nuwa Pen to life has been amazing, and we’re beyond excited to update you on what’s coming next.
 
 
CES 2025 Recap – A Spectacular Start to the Year
 
We kicked off 2025 with a bang at CES in Las Vegas. Four of our team members flew to the world’s biggest tech event to showcase Nuwa Pen on a grand stage, and the response was incredible:
  • Over 2,000 people visited our booth to try Nuwa Pen firsthand.
  • We received amazing media coverage in various articles and tech publications.
  • Nuwa Pen was frequently mentioned on X and featured in CES 2025’s “Tech to Watch” lists.
  • This momentum is a testament to the excitement surrounding Nuwa Pen, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on it.
 
Public Beta – What Does It Mean?
 
As we fine-tune the Nuwa experience, your feedback is invaluable. That's why we're launching Nuwa Pen in a Public Beta phase. But what does that mean?
 
Our Public Beta phase means all our core features are up and running—from digitization on any paper to augmented notes. However, there is still some fine-tuning left to do, which is only possible with thousands of users providing feedback. These insights will allow us to make smart decisions that benefit the user and develop the Nuwa ecosystem in a way that suits you.
 
Data Security – Your Privacy, Our Priority
 
Privacy isn’t just a choice; it’s a necessity, and we want to reassure you that Nuwa Pen is built with security in mind:
  • You control your data – Nuwa does not collect any data unless you choose to share it.
  • If you share your writing data, it will only be used to enhance the Nuwa Pen experience.
  • Hardware & software security – Data is encrypted during transmission, and only linked accounts can receive the pen’s data.

The Nuwa App securely stores your data on your phone.
Any data in the cloud is protected with state-of-the-art security infrastructure. Your trust is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring your writing remains yours and yours alone.
